M1 · 1 mark · Recognises accuracy or precision is improved.

M1 · 1 mark · Mentions burette scale is such that readings can be estimated to the nearest 0.05 cm³ / two decimal places.

Worked solution

Titration readings should be recorded to two decimal places to increase accuracy and because burette scales are marked every 0.1 cm³ and allow estimation between marks, so the second decimal shows if it’s on the line (0) or between (5).
