Show answer

(a) Yes; 6^2 + 8^2 = 36 + 64 = 100 = 10^2

(b) 1, 2, 5, 10

Show mark scheme and worked solution

Marking points

M1 (a) · 1 mark · Attempts Pythagoras' theorem correctly

A1 (a) · 1 mark · Correct conclusion with working: 6^2 + 8^2 = 10^2

M2 (b) · 1 mark · One correct factor of 10 listed

A2 (b) · 1 mark · Lists all factors: 1, 2, 5, 10

Worked solution

a) By Pythagoras: 6^2 + 8^2 = 36 + 64 = 100; 10^2 = 100. So the triangle is right-angled.

b) Factors of 10 are all numbers dividing exactly into 10: 1, 2, 5, 10.
