Marking points

B1 · 1 mark · Correctly states there are 2 points of intersection.

Worked solution

A quadratic and a straight line can intersect in at most two points. For y = x^2 and y = x + 2, setting x^2 = x + 2 gives a quadratic equation with two solutions, so there are 2 intersection points.
