Marking points
B1 (a) · 1 mark · Correctly identifies Class X as having more students between 40–70%.
B1 (b) · 1 mark · Correctly identifies Class Y as having the largest number of students with low scores.
B1 (c) · 1 mark · States Class Y and gives an appropriate reason (spread is more even than Class X).
Worked solution
a) The bar for 40–70% is higher for Class X (frequency density 4) than Class Y (frequency density 3).
b) Class Y has a taller bar for 0–40% (value 3) than Class X (value 1).
c) Class Y's bars for all intervals are similar heights (3, 3, 3), giving a more even distribution compared to Class X (1, 4, 2).
