Marking points
M1 · 1 mark · Explains that gas particles move randomly and collide with the walls.
M2 · 1 mark · States that these collisions create a force on the walls (pressure).
M3 · 1 mark · Describes how increasing temperature increases particle speed and frequency/force of collisions so pressure increases.
Worked solution
The particles of a gas move randomly in all directions. When they hit the walls of the container, they exert a force on the walls, which causes gas pressure. When the temperature increases, the particles move faster, so they hit the walls more often and with more force, increasing the pressure inside the container.
