Marking points
B1 · 1 mark · States that energy cannot be created or destroyed
B2 · 1 mark · Describes how energy changes form when a ball bounces (e.g. GPE to KE to heat and sound)
Worked solution
Conservation of energy means energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred. When a ball bounces, its gravitational potential energy is changed to kinetic energy as it falls and some energy goes to heat and sound when it hits the ground.
