Show answer

Must show: mass: use a balance, volume: use a measuring cylinder/displacement

Also accept: volume found by displacement method in water

Common mistakes: Estimate volume visually; Do not measure or mention appropriate apparatus

Marking points

M1 · 1 mark · Mass measured using a balance

M2 · 1 mark · Volume measured using a measuring cylinder/displacement method

Worked solution

Find the mass by weighing the marble on a balance. Find the volume by placing it in a measuring cylinder partially filled with water and recording the increase in water level.
